SBC 3:2 Famous Death
I am going to talk to you about Pat Tillman. He was a safety for the Arizona Cardinals. After the 9/11 attacks, he quit football to join the army. He was killed in Afghanistan in 2004.
Patrick Tillman was born on November 6, 1976. He went to Arizona State University. When he was at ASU he played tremendously well. He was selected as the defensive player of the year in 1997.
He was drafted by the Arizona Cardinals in 1998. In 2000 he set a team record for most tackles. As I said earlier, after the 9/11 attacks, he turned down an offer of $3.6 million to join the US army and fight in Afghanistan.
His cause of death was originally called an ambush by enemy forces and he was awarded the Silver Star. However, after much investigation, it was found that the cause of his death was friendly fire. It was a cover up to hide the true story.
Nowdays, Pat Tillman is inducted in the College Football Hall of Fame and has many awards to his name. The cover up story proves to show that the government may not always give you the full truth. May we not forget his story.
